INTRODUCTION

The Architect Profession Education (Pendidikan Profesi Arsitek – PPAr) Program at BINUS University was established with a steadfast vision: to become a reliable and excellent professional architecture program that equips future architects with the necessary competence and readiness for the internship path toward becoming registered professional architects. In fulfilling this vision, the program embraces a mission that integrates ethical rigor, international standards, and future-oriented professional skills. At the heart of the Architect Profession Education is the cultivation of professional competence grounded in ethical codes and national legal frameworks—preparing graduates not only to design responsibly but also to practice with integrity in the professional world. Furthermore, the program emphasizes the importance of aligning with international standards by adhering to the principles set by the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) and the International Union of Architects (UIA). Through this commitment, the program ensures that its graduates develop a global outlook and are well-prepared to navigate both national and international professional landscapes. It also places a strong emphasis on professionalism and innovation, encouraging students to integrate design efficiency with entrepreneurial values. Through active collaboration with planning institutions, design firms, public agencies, and communities, students gain real-world experience and exposure—enabling them to respond to complex challenges in the built environment with creativity, responsibility, and impact.

MISSION

The mission of Architect Profession Education is to contribute to the global community through the provision of world-class education by:

  • Fostering professional competence of Binusian by complying with and referring to the applicable ethical code and architecture laws.
  • Building and improving the quality of Binusian to comply with the international regulation issued by Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) and Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA).
  • Increasing the professionalism of Binusian by having strong entrepreneurship values, and collaborating with agencies, and public institutions in the field of planning, design, and the built environment.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

  • To prepare students to master the code of ethics and architectural code of conduct.
  • To prepare students to be able to compete and ready for the internship program to become certified professional architect.
  • To equip students to gain entrepreneurship knowledge, and to collaborate with other professions and stake holders to provide added value through planning and design for the built environment.

PROSPECTIVE CAREER OF THE GRADUATES

The Architect Profession Education Program is designed to produce graduates with the ability to design professionally, based on the applicable code of ethics, to meet the competency requirements of the architectural profession. This program primarily prepares its graduates to become Professional Architects by completing the required process to obtain the Architect Registration Certificate (Surat Tanda Registrasi Arsitek – STRA). Graduates are also equipped to explore diverse career paths in architecture-related fields and the broader construction industry. Additionally, graduates can work in areas related to the built environment, as well as in the public sector, where they may handle building regulations and development. Graduates are also equipped to pursue entrepreneurship by practicing independently in the field of architectural design.
